Patient Advocacy

Patients or their families may express a concern or complaint to any employee, physician, or volunteer, who should act as a patient advocate in referring the concern to the appropriate director for investigation and resolution.

The hospital provides a patient advocacy phone line which is received by the Patient Support Services Secretary. The phone line is staffed Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 p.m. During the evenings and weekends, calls are referred to the Nursing Supervisor by a voice mail message.

The Patient Advocacy Program is assisted by the AHC Volunteer Program. This program has a staff of volunteers who visit new admissions on a daily basis and distribute Hospital Inpatient Patient Information Questionnaires. The Volunteer office is located on the first floor.

Phone number is 540-332-4742 or 932-4742.
