Physical Therapy Opportunities
Augusta Medical Center embraces a true team approach to patient care. The Therapy Department is multi-disciplinary with the focus of the Physical, Occupational, Speech and Recreational therapists on positive patient outcomes and quality of care.
Inpatient Physical Therapy services include evaluation and treatment interventions for patient populations in the acute care hospital, our Skilled Nursing Facility unit and Neuro-Rehabilitation unit. Patient populations include post-operative orthopedics, cardiopulmonary, neurological, amputees and general medical patients.
Wound Care services are provided to both inpatient and outpatient populations, utilizing various modalities and debridement techniques in the treatment of diabetic, vascular and acute wounds. The Home Health division provides in-home treatment to patients living in the Augusta County area of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
Outpatient Physical Therapy services are provided at two clinical sites and include assessment and treatment programs for a variety of orthopedic, neurological, sports and work related disorders and diagnoses. Specialized programs include aquatic therapy, custom foot orthotics, custom brace fitting, lymphedema management, treatment of urinary incontinence/Women's Health program and pediatric rehabilitation. The Occupational Health and Rehabilitation program includes FCE/work conditioning, ergonomics, job site analysis, pre-employment screens and injury prevention employee education.
The therapy department at AMC is proud of the commitment that they maintain to provide quality patient care. We achieve this through a combination of staff development and simply taking the time to develop a good relationship with all of our patients. AMC provides many ways for the staff to advance their professional skills opportunities. Continuing education courses are brought into the hospital to provide on-site learning, along with regularly sending staff to courses of interest. We also have an active departmental in-service schedule.
Opportunities for physical therapists at AMC are boundless as our multi-faceted department allows growth opportunities throughout the continuum of care. The therapy department of AMC is an excellent place for therapists to hone their clinical skills in an environment which emphasizes quality of care over volume of treatments. Join our positive work environment.
