AMC Laboratory Services
AMC Laboratory Services provides specimen collection and a full range of laboratory testing. The laboratories are fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists and are staffed with highly trained phlebotomists, technologists and pathologists.
Our laboratory services include the following:

Blood Bank
AMC also has an on-site blood bank. Virginia Blood Services (VSB) is our primary supplier of blood products. Packed red blood cells, fresh frozen plasma and platelets are routinely stocked at AMC. Therapeutic phlebotomies are routinely performed by appointment. The VBS collects autologous and random donors Monday - Friday. You can call 540-332-4526 or 932-4526 to schedule an appointment.
School of Laboratory Science
The AMC School of Laboratory Science is a 12 month clinical program for students pursuing a baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology or who have completed a degree in Biology or Chemistry. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for national certification examinations for CLS or MT. Laboratory Client Services
Client Services, the outreach department of the Laboratory, was established to provide physicians in the Staunton/Waynesboro/Augusta County areas with full-service, high-quality patient care. Approximately 90% of all test results are reported within 12-24 hours of receipt through the efficient use of the latest in automated equipment and computers. Consistent and scheduled courier service is maintained on a daily basis and largely contributes to the rapid reporting time.
