AMC Transportation Services

AMC Transportation Services assists patients requiring medical transportation to physician offices, medical centers, nursing home facilities, dialysis and radiology treatments that require ambulance or medical wheelchair transportation.

AMC Transportation Services currently serves individuals in the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County areas. Our ambulance service transports patients between AMC and other destinations, as well as transports between surrounding medical facilities including, but not limited to:

  • University of Virginia Medical Center
  • Medical College of Virginia
  • Rockingham Memorial Hospital
  • Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center
  • Western State Hospital
  • Bath County Community Hospital
  • Roanoke Area Hospitals

The Ambulance Transport Team consists of an Emergency Medical Technician and an EMT Cardiac Technician/EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic who have training to administer emergency skills should a patient require during transport. AMC Transportation Services is also available should one of our community volunteer rescue squads require emergency assistance during a busy time.

Medicare, Medicaid and other health insurance may pay for transportation that is needed for certain medical conditions or if a patient should meet certain criteria. All others are served on a self-pay basis.

AMC Transportation Services is non-urgent in most cases, and booking a transfer vehicle in advance is essential to reduce any time delays.

7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Seven Days A Week
On Call Coverage For Any Time After Normal Business Hours
As of December 31, 2005 AMC Transportation Services will no longer provide Medical Taxi transportation.
