Volunteers are needed in the gift/snack shop, the two thrift shops, at the information desk in the main lobby (nights and weekends) and in several locations in the hospital. For more information, please call Volunteer Services at (540) 332-4740 or 932-4740. You may also print out the application form and mail it to the address below.

We believe no reward is greater than the satisfying feeling you receive when you lend a hand --- when you labor unselfishly for others --- when you know you are needed --- and when you know you are appreciated.

We all have a little time to spare. If you would like to share a little of your time with us, we can help fill that time with meaningful and worthwhile endeavors.

We have a new hospital and we have the skilled and professional staff to meet the needs of our patients. But our volunteers help us by applying that tender touch, that extra smile and willing pair of hands which make the difference in the care for which we are so well known. Volunteers often find that sharing their talents can have additional bonuses, especially if they are considering a career in health care, or if they have job skills to sharpen after absence from the work force.

Whatever your need, we'll try to match it to ours. We can help you give the greatest gift of all -- yourself.

Requirements for Volunteering

Adult Program
To ensure a positive experience for both the volunteer and the hospital, we request the following of all volunteers:

• Application
• Personal Interview
• Attendance at employee/volunteer orientation
• Annual negative Tuberculosis (TB) Test
• Wear volunteer uniform and ID badge
• Follow hospital policies

Teen Program
To become a Teen Volunteer for the summer program at AMC, you must have completed the ninth grade and be at least 14 1/2 years old.
