Camper Information

At Camp Dragonfly, campers will have the opportunity to meet others who have lost someone special. Camp Dragonfly will offer a supportive, healing environment where campers can openly express their feelings without fear of being criticized.

Children come to camp with many questions concerning illness and death. One of the AMC ER physicians, Dr. Asher Brand answers questions with compassionate candor.

While waiting to take a ride on the paddle boats, cabin volunteer Doug Thompson provides support and a listening ear to some of the campers during their free time.

Campers come to us in many different ways.  We receive referrals from family, friends, and neighbors.  We also encourage referrals from agencies in the community that recognize the pain that the loss of someone special can cause a child or teen.  Referrals are welcome from hospitals, hospices, school counselors and teachers, social workers, psychologists, physicians, funeral homes, and support groups.

If you are interested in becoming a camper, you may contact us via e-mail or download and complete the application form below. An application and medical history must be returned before confirmation of acceptance can be made.  Early registration is recommended to assure space.
