The Community Health Forum is a catalyst for meeting the physical and mental health needs of the greater Augusta region by promoting collaborative, active partnerships to sustain a healthy community.

Kim Koeppen (standing on left), Juvenile Parole Officer and Regional Director of Virginia Gang Investigators Association and Douglas A. Britt, a police officer with the Staunton Police Department, presented the topic "Street Gangs - What are they and what can we do?" This was a very informative presentation. The audience received information concerning motivation for joining a gang, gang philosophy and gang indicators/identifiers, such as clothing, graffiti and tattoos. The speakers stressed that gangs are a community problem.
