Client Services, the outreach department of Augusta Medical Center (AMC) Laboratories, was established to provide physicians in the Staunton/Waynesboro/Augusta County areas with full-service, high-quality patient care.  Approximately 90% of all test results are reported within 12-24 hours of receipt through the efficient use of the latest in automated equipment and computers.  Consistent and scheduled courier service is maintained on a daily basis and largely contributes to the rapid reporting time.

Because the accuracy of test results is dependent upon proven methods and techniques involving specimen collections, it is recommended that supplies, furnished by Client Services at no charge, be used to insure the stability of the specimen in transit.

To utilize Client Services, all you need are the request forms for supplies* and patient tests*.  Pioneering concepts in the area of optional patient billing has led to the development of a unique request form whereby you check the appropriate box to indicate who is to be billed. There is also an order form for stool occult blood* screening. You may also download our Lab Test Resource Guide*, which lists most of the commonly ordered tests and their clinical significance.

Test procedures, which are not now being listed, may be available as a result of continuous development programs of new and improved testing.  Please contact the Supervisor the procedure would involve or ask your AMC Courier when requiring information of this nature.

Pathologists are available to the referring physician for interpretation and advice, as well as a Homebound Phlebotomist for those who meet the homebound criteria.

PATHOLOGIST DIRECTED

Laboratory activities are directed by board-certified pathologists who provide supportive services in both the medical and technical areas.

FULLY ACCREDITED

Augusta Medical Center’s Clinical Laboratories and Blood Bank are accredited by the Commission on Inspection and Accreditation of Laboratories of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and approved to provide laboratory services under the Medicare program.
