Aqua Class Descriptions
CARDIO *All of these classes have a main emphasis on cardio, but also incorporate strength and balance movements.
Aqua Express- This is a 45 min, purely cardio, class! The movements within this class are great for toning and are not stressful on your joints! No Swimming Required. 45 min.
Aqua Power- This cardio respiratory workout is aerobically challenging! NO STRESS to your joints! Powerful movements! Great toning exercises!! Includes some strengthening exercises as well. No Swimming Required. 55 min.
Aqua Jogging- The newest addition to our class family. We are very proud to introduce the suspended deep water aqua workout using Aqua Jogging belts. This workout will challenge even the most fit of individuals, with no stress on the joints of the body. Everyone will love this new workout.
Aqua Medley- This is a hybrid class that will offer you power, jogging and strength workout for your cross training workouts.
Aqua Lite- Cross over class between Range of Motion and Aqua Power. Light cardio workout as well as flexibility training. Great for those with medical conditions! No Swimming Required. 45 min.
BALANCE & FLEXIBILITY
Range of Motion (ROM)- These full body workouts will move you in all directions giving you better flexibility and a fuller range of motion. Perfect for those with arthritis, body aches and pains and rehabilitating injuries. No Swimming Required. 45 min.
Fitness Studio Class Descriptions
CARDIO
STEP 2 It: By design; this class works the glutes and quads for a great cardiovascular workout for all levels. Highly choreographed for more experienced steppers. Length-55 minutes
YOUNG AT HEART: A great class for the beginner, or those with age, weight, and/or physical limitations. No fast or hard moves. LOTS OF FUN! Length-55minutes
CARDIO SCULPT: A cardio based class mixed with body sculpting equipments such as dumbbells, exercise balls, and weighted bars. A great 45 minute workout!
BODYCOMBAT™: This Les Mills class is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model instructors strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness. (60 minutes)
CARDIO/STEP EXPRESS: Cardio/Step express will be a high-energy 30-45 minute cardio/Step class. You will be able to get in and out of the gym under 45 minutes. It is for the busy person on the run to fit in exercise with the rest of their busy day! With guts adds 15 minutes of abdominal work to an express class.
FAMILY FRENZY: Fun for the whole family! Bring your entire family (ages 6 and up) to this 45 min workout! Family Day Rules Apply-Please stop by Membership to register your children if they are not already registered.
Strength
BODY SCULPT: A non-cardio, strength training class. The instructor will take you through a series of exercises using a variety of resistance equipment including weighted bars, dumbbells and fit balls while working each major muscle group. Will benefit all fitness levels and will increase balance and flexibility. 55 minutes (45 min. in am)
MUSCLE PUMP: This class will offer a choreographed weight-training program that offers you a total body workout in 55 minutes. It is a MUSCULAR ENDURANCE class at its very BEST! . Beginner-Advanced classes will be offered.
REP REEBOK: This is the latest strength training program for Reebok which takes you through a series of exercises per muscle group using weights and bars. 55 min.
KETTLEBELLS: An Awesome new body building and fat burning workout! You will use Russian style Kettlebells to sculpt and tone your body as well as improve flexibility and stamina. Come see what all the talk is about!
Dance
ZUMBA: A fun new way to get a great workout! Zumba combines different Latin dance moves and core movements to give you a full body workout! This is not your traditional workout… it’s more of a party, but you will definitely still feel the results! 45 minutes
ZUMBA FUSION: All the fun of Zumba with an additional emphasis on abdominal and overall body toning! 60 min
Core
PILATES: A series of core strengthening exercises in progression. Pilates is a proven way to strengthen your core, lengthen your spine and protect your lower back. Some equipment will be used, such as balls & bands.
AWESOME ABS: This is a 15 minute intense session which targets your core strength.
GUTS AND BUTTS: This class will work on the gluteus and abdominal muscles for a full 30 minutes. Come work your core with us.
Functional
FUNCTIONAL FITNESS: This excellent class works on body balance and stability. We use moves that you use each and every day to live your life to the fullest. This class will help with core strength, balance, bone density and injury recovery. 55 minutes
Specialty Studio Class Descriptions
Mind/Body
Basic Yoga- The basic Yoga class incorporates flowing physical postures (Asanas), breathing techniques (Pranayama), and deep relaxation, along with morsels of Yogic philosophy. Practitioners enjoy enhanced overall well-being, increased flexibility and strength, easefulness of the body, reduced stress and enhanced mental focus. Please upgrade to Total Plus or Universal membership to enjoy this class
Intermediate Yoga- Intermediate Integral Yoga will provide additional challenge for the experienced yoga practitioner by increasing the length and depth of basic yoga poses while introducing more challenging intermediate poses. This class offers all the benefits of the basic class while providing a robust overall fitness experience. Please upgrade to total plus or universal membership to enjoy this class.
Flow/Vinyasa Yoga- Vinyasa (Flow) Yoga is a powerful and meaningful way to improve strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness, while cultivating awareness and deep inner peace. This style links yoga postures in a flowing sequence with a strong focus on breath, resulting in a purifying meditation of movement. This class is challenging yet deeply profound in the after-affects. Variations will be provided for students of all levels and abilities.
Vinyasa Meditation in Motion Yoga- This class fuses traditional yoga poses (asanas) with flowing movements that allow the body to express its natural meditative rhythm.
Multi-Taskers Yoga- If you feel like you always have something in your life that is giving you stress or that you are balancing one hundred things at once-this class is for you. Practitioners enjoy enhanced overall well-being, increased flexibility and strength, easefulness of the body, reduced stress and enhanced mental focus. Chi Kung- Chinese Health Exercise. Movements from the five-element form are performed slowly and are very easy on the joints of the body. Chi is the energy state of living things. Kung is any training or study with Chi that takes time and effort. We are offering beginning, intermediate and advanced classes at this time. Included in the total plus and universal memberships. Tai Chi- Balanced walking techniques and slow movements with controlled stances. Tai Chi offers gentle warm-ups and stretches and is great for those recovering from illnesses or injuries. Free to total plus and universal memberships. Please upgrade to appropriate membership to enjoy this class. We offer advanced tai chi as well as specialty classes for cancer, diabetes and arthritis.
Martial Arts- Okinawan Karate, a defensive art steeped in tradition, discipline, history and culture of the fourteenth century. Taught by Dr. Tom Muncy, Grandmaster. Students will learn the discipline forms and develops coordination, internal discipline, physical stamina, mental alertness, increased awareness, and confidence in their ability to defend them. Beginner and Intermediate classes available! Cost is $55 per month for members & $90 per month for nonmembers. Please register & pay at the Front Desk.
Medical Programs- We offer a variety of medical programs. The cancer recovery classes are sponsored by the AMC Cancer Center and are open to all cancer recovery patients to attend- free to both member and non-member (non-member will need to fill out paper work for the first class from membership).
Core Strength
Pilates- Core strengthening exercise that allows you to stabilize before you mobilize. The components include a series of exercise based on Joseph Pilates techniques. It will offer you controlled breathing with strength and flexibility. Beginner-Intermediate & Advanced classes will be offered. Free to total, total plus and universal memberships. No registration required
Functional
Chair Exercise- A class designed to help with range of motion, flexibility, and strength while in contact with a chair. Come enjoy a great exercise program! Length-45 minutes

Endurance Training- This will offer you a mid-high aerobic workout with threshold training
Interval Training- This will offer you low, mid, high aerobic training with anaerobic and strength intervals
