Fitness Class Descriptions

Basic Training: It’s time to sweat. This class will offer you a wide variety of sports moves along with combinations of strength, cardio, kickboxing and abs. For those wanting a good workout without complicated choreography. Length: 55 minutes.

Cardio/Step Express: Cardio or step express will be a high-energy 30-minute cardio class. You will be able to get in and out of the gym under 45 minutes. It is for the busy person on the run to fit in exercise with the rest of their busy day!

Cardio Crazy: This class is a combination of various cardio workouts ranging from hi/lo, step, kickboxing and sports training. This class will always offer you something new. This is a moderately hi to low impact class which allows you to control your own intensity.

Guts and Butts: This class will work on the gluteus and abdominal muscles for a full 30 minutes. Come work your core with us!

Hybridation: It's the instructor's turn to choose! This class will offer a variety of fitness challenges with 3 different components chosen by the Instructor. It can offer Hi/Lo, Step, Muscle, Cross training and may have a small twist of Pilates or yoga. Come see what it's about. Length: 55 minutes.

Step 2 It: By design, this class works the glutes and quads for a great cardiovascular workout for all levels. Length: 55 minutes.

Muscle Pump: A very effective alternative to weight lifting. Each participant will have a bar with plate weights, which can be added or taken away to suit the individual. The Instructor will follow a format that will be changed every 6 weeks. Each muscle group will be worked continuously for 4-5 minutes. The Instructor will be able to help you choose the proper weight and teach you proper alignment for each exercise. It is a muscular endurance class at it's very best! Length: 55 minutes.

Body Sculpt: A one hour, non-cardio, strength conditioning class. The perfect compliment to any aerobic workout. The instructor will take you through a series of exercises using a variety of resistance equipment including weighted bars, dumbbells and stability balls while working each major muscle group. This class will benefit all fitness levels. Length: 55 minutes.

Pump 'n Grind: A muscle strengthening class that will push even the best weight lifter to the max. This class will use a variety of resistance equipment and work every major muscle group just like the body sculpt class, but with more intensity. Instructor may add plyometrics, power or cardio moves as well. Length: 55 minutes.

Chair Exercise Class: A class designed to help with range of motion, flexibility, and strength training excercises while in contact with a chair. Come enjoy a great exercise program! Length: 45 minutes.

Young at Heart: A great class for the beginner, or those with age, weight, and/or physical limitations. No fast or hard moves. LOTS OF FUN! Length: 55 minutes.

Expresso: Take the lunch express challenge with this high intensity cardio-pumping class! Length: 45 minutes.

Survivor: This class will be a high intensity outdoor challenge class. Boot Camp Style. We will begin and end the class in the aerobics studio. 55 minutes - seasonal, March through November.

Functional Fitness: This class is designed to strengthen and stretch your muscles. You will work on moves that incorporate balance and fitness that will enhance everyday movements. Come and enjoy! 55 minutes.

Kickboxing: A class that offers you a lot of variety. Kickboxing at it's best. You will punch and kick your way to a higher fitness level. Enjoy! Length: 55 minutes.

Hip Hop: Burn fat, increase flexibility, improve coordination and tone muscle through Hip Hop movements and dance combinations. The dance sequences are broken down into smaller parts and worked slowly at first so even beginners can do it! This class can help improve rhythm, footwork and coordination as well. No dance experience is needed! Come have fun and get a great workout in this Hip Hop dance class. Length: 55 minutes


Aquatic Class Descriptions

Aqua Express: This is a cardio express class for 40 minutes in the fitness pool and will concentrate on high intensity cardio moves. Great class for the “on the run” members.

Aqua Stretch: This 30 minute stretch class in the therapy pool will help you get rid of the kinks from a long day of work. Come and relax in the therapy pool with us.

Aqua Core: This will be a 30 minute abdominal core workout with balance work. We will offer this in the fitness pool directly after Aqua Express.

Aqua Jogging: We are very proud to introduce the suspended deep-water aqua workout using Aqua Jogging belts. This workout will challenge even the most fit of individual, with no stress on the joints of the body. Everyone will love this new workout. Since this is a deep-water workout, swimming is required. Belts are not made as a lifesaving device.

Aqua Power: This cardio respiratory workout is aerobically challenging! NO STRESS to your joints! Powerful movements! Great toning exercises! No swimming required.

Aqua Lite: This is a cross over class between ROM and Aqua Power. Range of motion with a little twist. Great for those with medical conditions. No swimming required.

MS Aqua: Multiple Sclerosis aquatic exercise. This MS class format includes the familiar components of warm-up, stretch and range of motion, upper and lower body strength, endurance, balance and cool down. No swimming required.

Range of Motion: This workout moves you in all directions giving you better flexibility and a fuller range of motion. Perfect for those with arthritis, body aches and pains. No swimming required.

Aqua Medley: This class will offer a combination of aqua classes. Length: 55 minutes.

Master Swim Club: Join the Lifetime Swim Team. Practices are held on Monday and Wednesday mornings and Tuesday and Thursday Evenings. Specialty Class Descriptions

Yoga for Health: Yoga classes in a nurturing non-competitive environment. Classes are open to all levels and abilities.

Fitness Yoga: Taught by Yogafit certified instructors. This class is designed to improve health and well being by blending balance, strength and flexibility. Length: 55 minutes.

Chi Kung: A Chinese health exercise. Movements from the five element form performed slowly and very easy on the joints of the body. Chi is the energy state of living things. Kung is any training or study with Chi that takes time and effort. Offered as intermediate and advanced.

Pilates: Core strengthening exercise that allows you to stabilize before you mobilize. The components include a series of exercises based on Joseph Pilates techniques. It will offer controlled breathing with strength and flexibility. Beginner - Intermediate - Advances classes will be offered.

Yogalates: This class is a combination of yoga and pilates for core strengthening with an ultimate power stretch. Give it a try!

Tai Chi: Balanced walking techniques and slow movements with controlled stances. This class is offered at the beginner and intermediate levels. Tai Chi offers gentle warm-ups and stretches and is great for those recovering from illness or injury. This class is a low stress class and is great for those who wish to relax.

Tai Chi for Arthritis: This class uses gentle Tai Chi movements to reduce pain and stiffness, uplifts the spirit, provides a sense of tranquility, improves muscle strength and joint flexibility.

Tai Chi for Diabetes: This program will help minimize the risk of complication for people with diabetes by improving heart/lung activity, muscular strength, flexibility, balance, and integrates the mind and body. It includes a warm up, wind-down, Qigong exercises, special precautions and a set of 19-movement Sun and Yang style Tai Chi.

Martial Arts: Okinawan Karate, a defensive art steeped in tradition, discipline, history and culture of the fourteenth century. Taught by Dr. Tom Muncy, Grandmaster. Students will learn the discipline forms and develops coordination, internal discipline, physical stamina, mental alertness, increased awareness, and confidence in their ability to defend them. Monday and Wednesday nights 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Beginner and Intermediate. Check the brochure for more information.
