Physician Opportunity - Emergency Department*
Augusta Emergency Physicians is looking for a full time emergency physician to join a well established, democratic, physician owned group providing physician staffing in a community hospital ED located in Fishersville, Virginia. The emergency department has approximately 58,000 visits per year in a modern, 28 bed emergency department. A “Fast-Track” area is staffed 12 hours a day by nurse practitioners employed by the group. Physician staffing is provided through six shifts per day, overlapped to provide triple coverage during peak hours of the day. Full time employment is considered 15-16, 9-10 hour shifts per month. There is a challenging and stimulating mix of clinical presentations to the ED, with a wide variety of ages, medical, surgical and traumatic cases. The hospital is served by a 24-hour hospitalist service and excellent ancillary services. AMC is served by its own ground transport service and two nearby air medical services, with most critical care/trauma transfers going to the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Candidates should be BC/BP in Emergency Medicine. Compensation is competitive and provided through a fixed hourly rate and a productivity based bonus system.
