Recreation Therapy
The service of Recreation Therapy is to facilitate the development and maintenance of the patient's physical, mental, emotional, and social abilities through recreational activities.
The department seeks to promote and teach an appropriate leisure lifestyle for individuals with functional limitations through therapy, leisure education, and leisure counseling.
The service delivery is primarily, but not limited to, the program area's of rehabilitation services, which are: Inpatient Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing Unit, Crossroads Mental Health Unit, and Recovery Choice. These services are provided for inpatients, as well as outpatients, upon request.
The Recreation Therapy department is located on the ground floor, Building A, of Augusta Medical Center. The Outpatient Recreational Therapy is located in the Physical Medicine Building.
Hours of Operation:
AHC Inpatient Recreational Therapy Monday - Friday 8:00 am. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
PMB Outpatient Recreational Therapy Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
